I love how they sound on my daughter’s violin, so I bought a set for myself (with Hill E) on my cheap violin. My violin is cheap with a good tone, but lack of volume. I felt these obligato strings increase the volume of my violin and also make it sounds warmer. My only dislike is the A string, it sounds weak at higher register, almost like it couldn’t get its voice out — but I will need to check if my sound post has shifted; or it could be my violin cannot handle that A string, since my violin is a CHEAP one (under $200).
